The Discipleship Training School (DTS) is where your missionary life starts. It is a 6 months course having YWAM’s moto ”To know God and to make Him known” at its very core. During the first 3 months in Vanuatu you will get to know God in new and deeperways. You will live in community together with a dedicated and experienced staff team that will mentor you and walk with you as you grow closer to God. You will be taught by experienced international speakers with a different topic every week such as ‘Hearing God’s Voice’, ‘Nature and Character of God’, ’Fatherheart of God’, ‘Mission’.
The second three months you will spend in Thailand sharing your faith and the Love of God with those who have never heard the Gospel. You will have opportunities to be a part of many different types of mission work to give you a big picture of what a life in Christian mission can look like.
But how can people call for help if they don’t know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven’t heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear of nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them, unless someone is sent to do it? That’s why Scripture exclaims, how beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news! But not everybody is ready for this, ready to see and hear and act. Isaiah asked what we all ask at one time or another: ”Does anyone care, God? ls anyone listening and believing a word of it?” The point is: Before you trust, you have to listen. But unless Christ’s Word is preached, there’s nothing to listen to. (Rom 10:14-17, Msg/NIV)
